We are UNC Charlotte's English graduate student organization. Basically, we're a bunch of people who think literature is lit! But we are more than just a group of bibliophiles: we have a love for publishing, linguistics, creative writing, English education, rhetoric, composition and more. And we decided, that the best way to share our love is to finally, once and for all, publish a blog which we are so excited to share with you.
Our blog is meant to be—not just an extension of the English Graduate Student Associati——a community for all artists and academics in the Charlotte area and beyond. It is a chance to highlight the works inside and outside UNC Charlotte's English department and promote cool community events provided by EGSA. Not to mention, keeping up with our blog means that you get to learn about our philanthropic missions every semester.
Our blog's name, The Young Know Everything—a quote from the masterful Oscar Wilde—is not a hubristic opinion about our knowledge, but instead a reflection of our intellectual curiosity. Our annual conferences intend to empower and encourage out-of-the-box thinking and open-mindedness. And as such, the name is an attempt to convey the unadulterated exhilaration we get from learning.
